Frequently Asked Questions.

Do I need my learners licence before I'm allowed to drive?: Yes. You will have to pass a theoretical test before you are issued a learners. The AA offers these tests.
How many lessons do I need before I can go for my restricted?: I recommend a minimum of 5 lessons with a driving instructor, but you will need at least 40 hours on the road to get confident.
How long do I need to stay on my restricted before I can get my full?: If you are under 25 the minimum period is 18 months, otherwise it is 6 months.

You can shorten the minimum period with 6 months if you pass a LTNZ endorsed StreetTalk course. We offer this course on a monthly basis.
If I do a StreetTalk course can I go for my full sooner?: Yes, if you are under 25 the you can sit your full after 12 months (normal 18 months) and if your over 25 you can get your full after 3 months in stead of 6 months.
When can I do the StreetTalk course?: You can do the StreetTalk course after 10 months and with the certificate you can book your test within 60 days after passing the course.

StreetTalk course starts every month.
I am very nervous, is that a problem?: No, that is not a problem at all. We have a lot of experience with nervous and insecure drivers. Our methods are aimed to make you feel comfortable and gain confidence while being supported by our experienced instructor.
